BRITNEY SPEARS – THERE’S AN APP FOR THAT

BRITNEY SPEARS now has very own app for the iPhone and iPod Touch.  The app, which costs 1.99 at the iTunes App store, is called "It's Britney!" What does it do?  Well, in addition to allowing you to receive special exclusive messages and official news and tweets from Britney, the app allows you to do some more unusual stuff. For example:

-The "Be Britney's Dancer" feature lets you upload a photo of yourself that makes it look like you're actually onstage with Britney.  You can then share your creations on Twitter and Facebook, and also upload them to BritneySpears.com.

-The "Sparkler" feature produces a cool effect when you hold up your iPhone or iPod touch at a concert.

-You'll have access to more than a hundred photos from Britney's archive to use as wallpaper, as well as some from her current tour, and they'll be constantly updated as new ones arrive.

-If you turn on the "Shake Shake Shake" feature, you iPod will say "It's Britney, Bi*ch!" every time you shake your phone or iPod touch.

HEATHER LOCKLEAR RETURNS TO MELROSE PLACE

HEATHER LOCKLEAR returns to Melrose Place tonight, to reprise her role as the deliciously wicked Amanda Woodward.  When the actress joined the original Fox series in the '90s, she brought a much-needed boost to the fledgling show, and now she's back to hopefully do the same to the series reboot on The CW, which recently booted ASHLEE SIMPSON-WENTZ and COLIN EGGLESFIELD.

And just so you know, the Los Angeles Times reports that Amanda didn't kill Sydney -- played by her former co-star LAURA LEIGHTON -- who was murdered in the new series' second episode.  Locklear told the paper that she wasn't sure how Amanda would fit in again, but when she saw the second episode, she felt better about reprising her role.  She told the paper, quote, "If I'm not the one who killed Sydney, I'm in."

TAYLOR SWIFT – “I CHOOSE TO BE SINGLE”

Is TAYLOR SWIFT dating New Moon star TAYLOR LAUTNER or not?  In the new issue of InStyle magazine, Taylor admits that the two have, quote, "gotten really close," but she denies actually having a boyfriend.  Taylor explains, "I've never thought it was a curse to be single, and at this point in my life, I'm in the mind-set where I choose to be single -- like, I [get] to light scented candles and write in my diary, and I wouldn't have time for that if I had a boyfriend right now."

For his part, Taylor Lautner tells the magazine that, quote, "it was definitely not hard" to play Taylor's love interest in the upcoming film Valentine's Day.  "[She's] hilarious," he says.

AARON CARTER OWES THE GOV’T $$$$

Aaron Carter's recent elimination from "Dancing with the Stars" cost him a steady paycheck and the timing couldn't be worse -- Uncle Sam says he owes over a million bucks in back taxes.

According to documents filed in Los Angeles yesterday, the alleged former teen heartthrob owes a staggering $1,010,635.08 to the government.

At least now we know why he was crying so much after the show last week
